Both the sanctuary windows and the
installation of the lift in the Education Center are
projects that are underway. There isn’t much visible yet on
the lift project, but the construction company’s architect
has done a survey and they are now in the process of getting
all the necessary permits. We hope construction can begin
soon. The first of the four windows that will be repaired in
this phase of the project has been gone for a while
now...but we found out that it took Dayton Art Glass a while
to locate a company that could provide enough of the glass
that matches so they could complete the entire side. Now
that they have the glass, they hope to proceed more quickly
in finishing the windows. Thanks to everyone who has helped
with donations, and with serving as contacts for the various
companies. The Capital Campaign Committee will plan for
acknowledgments and celebrations when these two projects are
completed. We still need to work on some chairs for the
sanctuary in various places, the next phase of window
repair, and ongoing support of our mission projects, Beds
for Babies and the St. Joseph
Family in Haiti.
HAITI MISSION TRIP
We had an amazing trip to Haiti this year!
The group included Shelley, Marilyn and Jay
from Honey Creek, Leanne from Springfield
and her sister Sue from the Chicago area,
and Ellen from North Carolina. Everyone had
been on a trip with Shelley before except
Sue, and we made a great group.
Possible trip to Haiti in 2014.
Several people have expressed an interest in
the Wings of Hope beach trip, which is
always the final Thursday of June. There is
a Haiti Mission Committee that is a
subcommittee of Mission, Outreach, and
Membership. If you would like to be a part
of it, let Shelley know.
